To be fairly honest, the exercise I did yesterday was a notch too much for my current physique, so I was spent and aching all day today. Now, normally I would not have any problems with my routine on a Sunday anyway, because it was a free day. However, today is the third day of my no-entertainment, work-centered month-long improvement marathon, not to mention the new daily journal entries and two articles a week I have to write. So, I realized that even if I upload a journal at any point in the day, it is generally too late for any potential small audience that would read it. I came up with a much, much better idea: staggered uploads. In order to keep readability and reliability at its maximum, I will upload the journal of the day before (so for tomorrow I will upload this journal, and the day after, tomorrow’s). Not only will that prevent any issues in putting it on the site, but it will also give me extra time to look over each entry.

Anyways, since my routine basically left me in bed for a good portion of the day, I won’t have much to write. However, I did accomplish one of my goals which was completing a section in Duolingo in Korean. I have done three languages seriously on Duolingo, and the one I have the most progress for is French, ahead of Spanish and Korean. I did French for all four years in high-school and had begun learning it even earlier on, so it was natural that I would navigate to an easy-to-use language application like Duolingo. However, Korean is a whole new level of hard, that even Spanish can’t match; it is a vastly different language to English, and despite its easy alphabet it has its own league of complications. The sequence of the sentences is different, from Subject-Verb-Object to Subject-Object-Verb, there are word blocks where the verb stems are added to different words, there are levels of politeness and tenses which are different from English or any language I know, and there are many, many rules. I currently am at the point where I write down each word I learn in the Korean alphabet, Hangul, and then write down the romanization (English equivalent spelling), even though I’m not supposed to (apparently it stunts future learning). Now, since I completed the second language block at every level (gold star mastery), I’ve reached my temporary goal of getting past the difficult hurdle of the toddler level in Korean. Now, I can at least read and write the most basic sentences but don’t expect much from me.

Well, that was all that I accomplished today regarding my personal routine, but today is where I continue my writing spree and hopefully write a glowing review on Peter Thiel’s book, “Zero to One”. So far, his book has many interesting topics and truths and also quite a few problems and fallacies that bump the trail, but overall I believe that past any issues one can find a seasoned perspective on startups that is more than worth reading. Anyways, having a routine is my maker of progress and I will restart and get working first thing tomorrow morning.
